Class Description

Join us for a special Tiwahe Program workshop designed for Ute adult learners to celebrate artistry, tradition, and community. Over three evenings, participants will learn the timeless skills of beadwork and leather belt making with a loom that is deeply rooted in Ute culture and identity. Guided by skilled instructors, you will design and create your own personalized belt, blending traditional techniques with modern touches. As part of this intergenerational experience, our youth Tiwahe Cooking Class will prepare and serve a healthy soup and sandwich dinner meal each evening, creating a shared space where food and culture bring generations together. This workshop not only honors creativity and craftsmanship but also strengthens community bonds—one bead, one stitch, and one story at a time. Highlights: - Hands-on instruction in bead design and leather belt making - Opportunity to complete a meaningful, wearable piece of art - Shared meals prepared by Ute youth, connecting traditions across generations = Space for cultural connection, creativity, and relaxation Register through this link http://ProjectPeak.org or scan the QR code to register.
