Class Description

Step into the world of stories, art, and language in this fun and creative workshop just for Ute Mountain Ute students ages 7–12! In the Ute Visual Dictionary and Ute Making of a Story Book class, you’ll get to explore your language and culture in exciting new ways—by making your very own scrapbook-style storybook! Using colorful papers, markers, stickers, natural materials, and more, you’ll build a one-of-a-kind visual dictionary filled with Ute words, pictures, and meanings that matter to you. Then, bring those words to life by creating a short story told in both images and language. Whether you love drawing, writing, or just having fun with crafts, this workshop is a great way to connect with your heritage, share your creativity, and learn together with friends. Come create something truly special that celebrates who you are and where you come from!
